Ahli striker Osama Hosni will be out of action for at least two weeks after picking up a thigh injury during the Reds' 1-0 win over Al-Gaish on Friday, Ahli's official site said.

Hosni capped a rare start for Manuel Jose's team with the only goal of the game, but he was substituted shortly before half-time after feeling his thigh.

Ahli team doctor Ehab Ali confirmed that the Egypt international has a thigh strain, which should keep him out of action for at least 15 days.

Hosni's injury means that the 26-year-old will miss the next two games against Suez Cement and Baladeya Mahalla before the 2008 African Cup of Nations break.

The Egyptian champions will also miss suspended trio Mohamed Abou-Treika, Emad Al-Nahhas and Hossam Ashour against Cement, in addition to the injured Mohamed Barakat.
