He took part in training on Sunday and is in contention to feature against Greek side Aris.

"I’m hoping Luca can play," coach Ottmar Hitzfeld told Bayern's official website.

Goalkeeper Oliver Kahn will reclaim his place between the sticks after serving a one-game club ban.

The former Germany keeper was suspended by Bayern after publicly criticizing the new arrivals Luca Toni and Franck Ribery.
