Egyptian coach Mohamed Omar led Al-Wehdat to a precious 1-0 win over Faisali to clinch the summit of the table before the winter break.

Raafat Ali curled a long-range free kick in the 66th minute to grab the full points of the game.

Fathi Al-Arabati leveled the score in the 87th minute but the flag was up and the referee whistled offside. The TV replay showed the goal was totally legitimate.

The decision blew out violent incidents on the pitch as Faisali players tried to attack the match official as security forces were forced to intervene.

Al-Wehdat moved to the top of the table with 21 points two ahead of Faisali who dropped to the second place.

Omar’s men will have the chance of moving seven points clear if they beat Al-Jazira on Wednesday in their postponed game.
