Sagnol recently requested to leave the German giants due to lack of playing time.
However, he made a U-turn on his initial stance, announcing his latest decision after Bayern's demolishing 6-0 victory over Aris Saloniki in the UEFA Cup.
"That was definitely not my last match for Bayern Munich," the 30-year-old was quoted as saying by the club's website.
The former Monaco man returned to action in October following a lengthy-lay off due to injury, but he rarely featured with the Bundesliga leaders.
"I think I was expecting rather more. In my opinion we found a good solution. We’re all happy now."
Hitzfeld is delighted to have Sagnol at his disposal at least until the end of the season.
"Provided he’s fit, he’s an important member of the team. I’m counting on him for the second half of the season.
"I hope he can return to being a leading personality at this football club," the veteran tactician concluded.
