Egypt playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika has pointed out the importance of warm-up friendlies ahead of the 2008 African Cup of Nations.

The Pharaohs will play Namibia next week in their first of three warm-ups, and the Ahli wizard is eyeing a victory.

"We are the holders, we will go to Ghana with an eye on the title, so we need to win in friendlies in order to boost our morale," Abou-Treika told FilGoal.com.

"Everything is going well in our camp, and confidence is high."

Egypt will also face Mali in Abou-Dhabi on January 10th, before entertaining Angola in Portugal three days later.

Abou-Treika, who had the last decisive kick of CAN 2006, lifting Egypt over Ivory Coast in the final shootout victory, will be the focus of expectation for Egyptian fans this month.
