Mohamed Abdullah believes his switch to Zamalek will boost his chances of earning a call up to Egypt squad.

The right-back moved to Zamalek from Konyaspor and is determined to make up for the disappointing spell he had with the Turkish side.

"I chose Zamalek because they will give me the chance to feature on a regular basis. This can help me join the national team," Abdullah told FilGoal.com on Wednesday.

Abdullah has been linked with a move back to Ahli but he opted to join their arch-rivals, recalling some bad memories with the Red Devils.

The 26-year-old was consistently snubbed by Ahli coach Manuel Jose and failed to make an impact after joining from Ismaili.

"If I join Ahli I will not play, just like what happened last season," he concluded.
