Goalkeeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef is close to extending his deal with Zamalek, assistant coach Ayman Mansour said on Thursday.

The Egyptian international’s contract runs out in the summer and there has been speculation linking him with a move away from Zamalek.

However, Mansour is adamant Abdul-Monsef is going nowhere.

"I met with Abdul-Monsef and we discussed some clauses of a new contract," Mansour told FilGoal.com.

"He is an integral member of Zamalek squad and rumors spreading about his departure are totally untrue."

Abdul-Monsef has taken Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed’s place between the sticks this season after the latter was injured.

Although Al-Sayed has fully recovered, Abdul-Monsef still maintained his regular place in the men in white squad.

The 30-year-old has been the subject of a reported interest from several Italian clubs, including Lazio and Catania.
