"For the moment I am under contract with Liverpool, but I am expecting news in the next few days," he was quoted as saying by Calcio Italia.

"My agent is talking with Liverpool and Juventus to work out terms for my sale."

Sissoko, 23, doesn't feature regularly in Rafael Benitez's side and said repeatedly that he is interested in joining Juve.

"From my point of view, I am very enthusiastic at the idea of playing for such a prestigious club and to have a fresh challenge to show my value," he said.

Sissoko will be leading the Malian national team in the African Cup of Nations later this month.

The tournament starts in Ghana on January 20th and ends on February 10th.
