Several clubs want CAF to play their tournament in the summer instead of its current timing in January and February.
African players could be out of handful club games if their national teams advanced through out the tournament.
But CAF secretary general Mostafa Fahmi said the European view doesn't suit Africa.
"It is impossible to move the competition to June because it is the rainy season in most African countries and it will also be too hot," Fahmi said on BBC Sport.
"We know our continent better; can Europe organize the European Championship in Russia in January?
Another European suggestion of playing the tournament every four years instead of two won't be endorsed by CAF, at least during the next six years.
"I can confirm that the Nations Cup will continue to be held every two years at least till 2014," the Egyptian official said.
"I am surprised that they say we are the only confederation that organizes their Nations Cup every two years.
"Europe and Asia are exceptions, other confederations like Oceania and North and Central America apply the same duration system we have in our competition."
