Ibrahim Saied insisted he is fully fit for Egypt's African Cup of Nations opener against Cameroon but respects Hassan Shehata's decision to leave him out of the encounter.

"I took part in Egypt's training on Sunday morning and came through it unscathed. There are no injury problems now," Saied told FilGoal.com in a phone interview.

There were doubts over the availability of the Ankaragucu unsettled defender due to a knee problem.

Egypt coach Shehata opted not to rush him back into action, saying that Saied will be ready for the Pharaohs' second Group C game against Sudan on Saturday.

"I fully respect the technical staff decision. I'm ready to feature whenever they select me," the former Ahli and Zamalek man added.

Egypt open their CAN campaign against Indomitable Lions Cameroon in Kumasi on Tuesday.
