Manager Hassan Shehata asked Saied to train with Egypt's suspended captain Ahmed Hassan in the morning, which means he was dropped from the squad playing later on the same day.
Shehata is set to name the starting line-up a few hours before the Group C opening game in Kumasi.
Saied’s knee has been nagging him before heading to Ghana but he shook off the injury in time for the Lions clash.
However, assistant coach Shawki Gharib said the veteran defender is still to be tested before the crucial game.
"It's not important whether I play or not, the result against Cameroon is what I think about," Saied told FilGoal.com on Monday.
"Egypt eye victory in the group opener and I am ready to play whenever I am called up."
Wael Gomaa, Hani Saied and Mahmoud Fathallah are expected to start in the backline against Cameroon.
