CAF warn Abou-Treika over political slogan

The African Football Confederation (CAF) warned Mohamed Abou-Treika for displaying a political slogan while celebrating his first goal against Sudan in Saturday's 3-0 CAN 2008 win.

The African Football Confederation (CAF) warned Mohamed Abou-Treika for displaying a political slogan while celebrating his first goal against Sudan in Saturday's 3-0 CAN 2008 win.

The Ahli playmaker folded his jersey as another shirt appeared with the slogan "Sympathize with Gaza" typed on it.

CAF officials said that Abou-Treika breached the regulations of the African football governing body.

The Egypt star, who was cautioned by referee Koffi Kodja for his celebration, scored a brace in the Group C win over Arab neighbors Sudan

Abou-Treika's act follows the movement of thousands of Palestinians into the Egypt border after Israel imposed a blockade on the Gaza Strip.
