"Egypt are a good team, they can go all the way and lift the trophy," Atta told Sudanese paper Captain on Sunday.
Atta's comments came after Egypt crushed Sudan 3-0 on Saturday to close on a place in CAN quarter-finals.
The Pharaohs couldn’t find their rhythm early in the game, but Sudan's resistance didn't last for long.
Hosni Abd-Rabou's first-half penalty gave Egypt the lead before a double by substitute Mohamed Abou-Treika in the second period ensured the victory.
"I'm satisfied with Sudan's performance despite the defeat, which doesn't reflect the nature of the game," Atta said.
"We dominated possession for long spell but failed to convert our chances. Sudan have a real problem upfront, we couldn't also score against Zambia."
Sudan are rooted in Group C after failing to bag a single point. Egypt lie on top with six points from two games, three ahead of Cameroon and Zambia.
