Senegal's results have been very disappointing for their fans
Senegal coach Henri Kasperczak has become the first casualty of the 2008 African Cup of Nations after his team managed only one point in their opening two games.

The French manager has resigned just hours after his team's shocking 3-1 defeat by Angola in Group D on Sunday, the Senegalese television announced.

Senegal where held to a 2-2 by Tunisia in their opening game and are now in third place in their group and facing elimination.

Senegalese fans have blamed the Polish-born manager for the lackluster performance of their national team and accused him of relying on old players from the 2002 generation that made it to the World Cup.

Kasperczak will be replaced by his assistant, Lamine Ndiaye who will lead the team in their final group stage match against South Africa on Thursday as they have a very slim chance of making it to the next round.

The Terenga Lions have to beat South Africa by at least two goals and pray that Angola can dispose of the mighty Tunisians.
