Crystal Palace are in talks with Strasburg to sign Ahmed Abou-Mosallam in January, manager Neil Warnock said.

The Egyptian left-back had one-week trail with the Championship side and he made a good impression.

"We have spoken to them (Strasbourg) and we are going to see what develops," said Warnock, who was Ahmed Fathi's coach at Sheffield United.

"We have to make a move sooner rather than later and we are discussing that at the moment," he told Croydon Today.

"I was impressed by him. He did well."

Abou-Mosallam, 26, made just two appearances with Strasbourg this season.

He was dropped from the Egyptian squad playing in the African Cup of Nations due to lack of regular football.

Crystal Palace are sixth in the Championship on 44 points.
