Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini launched a scathing attack on Italian reporters because of the ongoing criticism of his side.

Media reports have been suggesting that referees favor Inter this season, with accusations increasing after the debatable 3-2 victory over Parma in the Italian Cup.

"For a few years now there have been some ‘widows’ who judge and write pieces against us in particular," Calcio Italia quoted Mancini as saying in a press conference.

"Inter have no power, though, we have always worked honestly and on this there can be no doubt.”

After the victory -- which saw Fernando Couto sent off in a controversial play -- Mancini and his players declined to speak to the media in protest over the accusations.

"I have never seen such chaos over a half-foul," added Mancini, who has been dropped from the three-name shortlist of the Italian Coach of the Year award.

"After everything that was said and written, we thought it right to step back and not speak. This silence was chosen to put an end to the controversy."
