"When you build a team and you get demolished, you are responsible for it," Nouzaret told a press conference after the game.
"I am responsible for this. Robert Nouzaret is responsible."
The Guineans stood firm for almost 70 minutes with the Elephants just one goal up, courtesy to Abdulkader Keita's first-half effort.
Nouzaret's men threatened on the break but Didier Drogba doubled the lead 25 minutes into the second period as the floodgates opened.
"It is frustrating because their second goal came at a moment when we were causing them problems," the Frenchman said.
Salomon Kalou posted a brace and substitute Bakary Kone was also on the score sheet as Ivory Coast completed the rout.
Nouzaret's compatriot and Ivory Coast manager Gerard Gili credited the losing side for their efforts.
"They were very organized and I want to congratulate them for that," Gili said.
