Match-winner Mohamed Abou-Treika said he and his teammates are looking forward to the 2010 World Cup qualifiers after Egypt clinched a record sixth Nations Cup title.

The Ahli classy playmaker notched home with 14 minutes remaining to lead Egypt to a much-deserved 1-0 win over Cameroon in the competition's final.

After achieving a historic triumph, Abou-Treika believes there is still more to come from this crop of players.

"This generation has proved their brilliance," the 29-year-old said after the match.

"We are looking forward to booking a place in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa."

The Pharaohs' last World Cup appearance was in the 1990 tournament in Italy. Since then, Egypt repeatedly failed to progress to the most important competition in the world.

Abou-Treika was lost for words to describe his feelings after scoring what proved to be the winner.

"I scored a decisive goal for my team Ahli in the Champions League. Thankfully, I repeated that fate again," he added.

The former Tersana man helped Ahli win the 2006 CAF Champions League title after his last-gasp strike earned the Red Devils a 1-0 victory over Tunisia's Sfaxien.
