"It's not all about money but it's not far off when you sit on my side of the table," Lamb was quoted as saying by BBC Sport on Wednesday.
"Everything is expensive and so if we can get another £5m out of playing in a foreign country it's a big help to us."
The Premier League consider adding an additional round of Premier League fixtures, starting in January 2011, which will be played abroad.
UEFA president Michel Platini voiced his objection to the plan while head of FIFA Sepp Blatter demanded full details from the Premier League.
The world governing body will discuss the idea at its next executive committee meeting in Zurich on March 14th.
Despite supporting the idea, Lamb still has some reservations.
"I can only find one flaw in it and that is the one that has been described as the 'sporting integrity flaw'."
"I find it odd that you can play 39 games and it might mean that one of those games is against a team you have to play three times," he added.
