Abdul-Monsef: No fine

Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef denied being subjected to an EGP 50,000 after his recent outburst at the team's technical staff.

Abdul-Monsef was angry for being left out of Zamalek's starting line-up against Rwanda's APR in the Champions League game last weekend.

"No one informed me about any fine, I have already spoken to the manager and the technical staff understood my frustration," he told FilGoal.com.

"I got angry because I was first-choice before going to Ghana with the national team, so I felt I deserved a start."

The 30-year-old guardian took Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed's place between the Zamalek sticks, following the latter's continuous injury problems during the past two seasons.

"I have no problems with any member of the team or even the technical staff, I have just signed a new contract last month," added Abdul-Monsef.
