Zamalek captain Hazem Emam played down speculations claiming that he will put an end to his career at the end of the season and become a candidate for a board member position.

"I know nothing about that. I am still playing football and I don't focus on such rumors," Emam was quoted saying on a TV show.

"All I want is to win the Cup and the CAF Champions League especially as our hopes faded in the League."

The 32-year old playmaker featured for the Whites in their 2-0 win over APR of Rwanda on Sunday.

Hazem Emam lost his place in Zamalek's lineup since last season and it has been rumored that he decided to quit next summer.

The former Egyptian player of the year announced his retirement last September after being bowed by the fans in the 1-0 home defeat against Ismaili but then he made a U-turn on his decision.
