Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson was full of praise for Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese winger masterminded his side's 2-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers.

Ronaldo scored twice against Bolton to take his goal tally to 33 for the campaign and surpass George Best record for goals in a season.

"I think it's phenomenal. It speaks everything for the player," Ferguson told Sky Sports.

"I don't think there is a winger in this world that can do that and that's the measure of the quality of the lad and his scoring ability."

League Lead

The Scottish tactician is happy the Red Devils have regained their Premier League leadership.

United went three points clear on top after capitalizing on Arsenal's slip-up against Wigan Athletic last weekend.

"It's a lead, it's not a significant lead but it's a lead nonetheless. With eight games to go the team who plays with the most consistency now will win it."
