Mourinho's personal advisor Eladio Parames was quoted by Portuguese media as saying that the former Chelsea coach flew to Italy to meet with Inter president Massimo Moratti.
Parames said that Mourinho is in Milan to sign for Inter after 'he received the contact with pleasure'.
However, the charismatic manager denied any contact with the Italian champions.
"I say categorically that it is not true that I went to Milan, that I met with Moratti, who I do not have the pleasure of knowing personally," read a statement on Portuguese national agency Lusa.
"It is false to say that I am on the point of signing a contract with Inter Milan."
The Portuguese coach, who is currently out of job, has been linked with several European clubs and nations after leaving Chelsea last year.
On the other hand, Inter's recent form fueled speculation that coach Roberto Mancini is on his way out of San Siro.
However, Nerazzurri chairman Massimo Moratti denied being in rift with Mancini ahead of Saturday's crunch Serie A game with Lazio.
