Arab Contractors coach Alaa Nabil was outraged with the unfortunate incidents which marred his side's 1-1 draw with Masri in the Egyptian League.

Tempers flared after Masri were awarded a penalty towards the end as Nabil rushed to the pitch to protest the referee's decision.

Masri fans brandished insults towards Nabil, who exchanged with them angry words before security men intervened to ease tensions.

Nabil had to stay in the lockers room for nearly an hour after the match to avoid the fans' anger.

"It was a terrorist atmosphere. I can't believe what happened," the former Egypt assistant coach told Modern TV.

"I was locked up in order not to be attacked from Masri fans. I did not do nothing wrong to infuriate the supporters."

Masri board member Hossam Ghoweba believes Nabil shoulders the blame for the reaction of his side's supporters.

"He kept on provoking our fans throughout the match. He is responsible for all what happened," Ghoweba told Nile Sports.

The Egyptian FA competitions' committee is yet to comment on the incidents which arise from time to time in local football.
