Ben Haim recently said that he wouldn't have joined Chelsea if he knew Grant would take over at the club.
"It is internal business but, in my opinion, if a player was wrong we need to deal with it — in our way, my way," Grant was quoted as saying by The Sun.
The former Bolton Wanderers defender said former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho told him that he will be a first-team regular.
But things changed under Grant, who did not accept Ben Haim's comments.
"I don’t think Jose promised Ben Haim he will play before John Terry, (Ricardo) Carvalho and Alex," Grant added.
