Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb could see his season ends sooner than expected as the English FA charged him with violent conduct following an incident with Reading defender Graeme Murty last Saturday and he is set to be banned for the rest of the season.

"The incident was not seen by referee Peter Walton. Having now watched video footage, Walton has informed the FA that, had he seen it, he would have shown Hleb a red card for violent conduct." A statement on the FA website said.

The 26-year old midfielder has until Wednesday afternoon to admit or deny the charge. A regulatory commission will hear the case on Thursday, April 24.

Hleb could have played his last game for the Gunners, who have only three matches left to pay this season, as he has been linked with a move away from the Emirates.
