Ahli's goalkeeping woes continue as Amir Abdul-Hamid was ruled out of Thursday's league game with Ittihad with a fresh knee injury.

Amir pulled a hamstring against Petrojet three weeks ago, but made an appearance at Platinum Stars in the CAF Champions League last Saturday.

However, the 28-year-old, who played the whole game in Pretoria, is sidelined for a week.

"I have a knee problem and doctors say I need to rest for a week, which means I won't be available against Ittihad," he told FilGoal.com.

Amir has become Ahli's only senior goalkeeper, following the surprise departure of Essam Al-Hadari to Sion.

Manuel Jose will pray to have him back in time before the Stars' return game next week.

Duo Back

Meanwhile, striker Osama Hosni has returned to full training, following a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Ahli's official site stated.

Hosni has been out of action for more than three months with a recurring thigh problem, which saw him missing Egypt's 2008 African Cup of Nations campaign.

Center-half Rami Adel, who also had a thigh problem, has resumed full training as well after missing out for the last month.
