Angolan side Interclube have fired Brazilian coach Carlos Mozer following their humiliating 3-0 defeat against Zamalek in the CAF Champions League round 16 first leg last Saturday.

The former Brazil international led Interclube to their first league title six months ago but he was dismissed following the team's poor start of the season and the heavy defeat against the Whites.

The loss almost demolished Interclube hopes of reaching the elite competition's quarter finals.

Interclube are now 12th of the 14-team table with only six points from eight matches.

Mozer, who was Jose Mourinho's assistant during his spell at Benfica, took over at Interclube in October 2006.

The 48-year old tactician played with Brazil in the 1990 World Cup.
