Mohamed Zidan's Hamburg slipped to fifth spot in the Bundesliga table after a 2-0 away defeat to Energie Cottbus.

Stiven Rivic opened the scoring in the 29th minute before Dennis Sorensen ensured the victory six minutes from time.

Egyptian forward Zidan wasn't included in Hamburg's squad for the third successive match.

The result put Hamburg in fifth place of the league table on 51 points, just like Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg and Stuttgart with one match to go.

These teams compete for the fourth and fifth spot in order to book a place in the UEFA Cup next season.

Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich, Werder Bremen and Schalke are all guaranteed UEFA Champions League places.
