Morocco have agreed terms with French coach Roger Lemerre, starting from July 1st, the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) said on Tuesday.

Lemerre, who is currently in charge of Tunisia, will see his contract with Carthage Eagles expiring next month, with no signs of a possibility to pen a new deal.

"At the end of the talks, it was agreed that all the conditions are currently met for Lemerre to take over as the new coach beginning July 1, 2008," an FRMF statement read.

Lemerre, 66, led France to the Euro 2000 title in Holland and Belgium, before guiding Tunisia to the African Cup of Nations trophy four years later.

He also helped Tunisia qualify to the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, where they were eliminated from the first round.
