Zamalek's Ahmed Abdul-Raouf struck in injury time to sink Tersana 1-0 on Thursday and go second ahead of Ismaili who lost to Ghazl Mahalla 2-0.

With two matches left to play, the Whites have now 53 points three ahead of Ismaili.

Abdul-Raouf sent a superb shot from 20 yards that went in the top corner. Tersana had a golden chance to break through but the post denied Ahed Abdul-Meguid’s early header.

Ghazl Al-Mahalla thumped Ismaili 2-0 to blow their hopes of clinching the second spot.

Nader Al-Ashri opened the score in the 19th minute and Ahmed Hassan secured the win in the 60th minute to increase his tally of League goals to 12.

ENPPI beat Gaish 2-1 to oust them out of the second-spot hunt. Alaa Issa and Ahmed Raouf scored for ENPPI while veteran forward Abdul-Satar Sabri scored Gaish’s consolation goal.
