Amir Azmi's Anorthosis Famagusta missed out on clinching the domestic double after a 2-0 defeat to Nicosia-based APOEL in the Cypriot Cup final on Saturday.

Amir Azmi's Anorthosis Famagusta missed out on clinching the domestic double after a 2-0 defeat to Nicosia-based APOEL in the Cypriot Cup final on Saturday.

Portuguese defender Nuno Morais opened the scoring eight minutes after restart before Nenad Mirosavljevic ensured APOEL's win in the 75th minute.

Egyptian defender Azmi missed the game through suspension after being sent-off in the cup semi final.

Anorthosis were crowned Cypriot League champions to book a place in the UEFA Champions League qualifying round.

Azmi will return to Egypt to join the Pharaohs' training camp for the 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign, which begins next month.
