Tottenham have decided to withdraw their bid for Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o because of his wage demands.

Spurs manager Juande Ramos traveled to Spain to finalize the deal and reached an agreement with the Catalan bosses but after a meeting with the Cameroon striker he called off the bid.

According to Marca, Tottenham were ready to splash 40m euros to get the 26-year marksman but couldn't afford his 'too high' wage demands.

The former Real Madrid and Real Mallorca striker has been under a huge pressure from the fans recently and he hinted on several occasions that he might move away from Camp Nou.

Frenchman Thierry Henry was quoted saying that it is time for Eto'o to seek a new challenge as the 'atmosphere became very hard'.
