The former Anderlecht ace, who agreed terms with the Egyptian champions a few months ago, was adamant that he made the right move.

"I am happy to join a club like Ahli, I know there is a high standard of professionalism here, just like in Europe," said Hassan.

"I learnt a lot during my spell in Europe, and I hope to pass my experience to my new teammates.

"I am not a foreigner to Egyptian football, I know all about the league where I started my career."

Hassan played in Aswan and Ismaili before moving to Turkey in 1998, following Egypt's African Cup of Nations victory in Burkina Faso.

The versatile midfielder was acquired by Anderlecht in 2006 after his second African with Egypt on home soil.
