The Merengues are trying to sign the 23-year old winger and seem ready to spend huge to bring him at the Bernabeu despite threatens from Manchester United to take the case to FIFA.
"Cristiano will help us in many ways, but he couldn't do it alone. It'll be expensive and we must pay lots of money, but we do need more as one is not enough," the German boss told AS.
"What he's going through is very complicated for a lad his age, but he's conducting himself with integrity and without compromising his way of playing at Manchester United. He almost seems like a veteran.
"For the fans, this signing would be a spectacular 'boom', a bit like what we saw with David Beckham here. This isn't England and such a change will affect the player. We must solve that problem."
Schuster also revealed his wish of bringing more talents in midfield and the striking department.
He mentioned the names of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Diego, Ricardo Quaresma and recently Arsenal's Alexander Hleb.
"We didn't originally know that he may leave Arsenal but now it seems that he will, and we were surprised by that."
The former Getafe coach has also played down speculations that Robinho could be on his way out of the Bernabeu.
"Will he be transferred? No, and moreover we've never even considered it. Robinho is happy with us and the only problem is that he had trouble getting back into things after his injury. He will fight to recover his spot," he added.
