Portugal's second training session in Neuchatel witnessed a huge number of fans, who traveled from the Southwestern European nation to support their team in EURO 2008.

Uefa.com stated that no less than 12,000 supporters, mostly from Portugal, were present at Stade de la Maliniere, two days before the tournament's kickoff.

The Portuguese get ready for their opening game with Turkey on Saturday, as Luiz Felipe Scolari's team are deemed as one of the favorites to lift the trophy.

The EURO 2004 hosts missed out on the title in the latest edition as they lost 1-0 to Greece in the final in Lisbon.

However, the Portuguese fans don’t seem to give up as their talent-packed team bid for the title in Austria and Switzerland.

"The feeling you have for Portugal is even stronger when you're far away," a Portuguese supporter was quoted by Uefa.com.
