FIFA has ordered Romania striker Adrian Mutu to pay $20 million to Chelsea for testing positive for cocaine in 2004.

The Fiorentina marksman was banned for seven month in 2004, when he was playing at Chelsea, and moved to Juventus on a free transfer.

The Blues have asked for $15 million in compensation but FIFA ordered them $20 million according to the player’s transfer value.

Mutu's lawyer, Cristian Sarbu, said that he would make an appeal confirming that the decision is not final and that his client won’t pay the compensation right now.

"People should understand that this is a decision taken by a sporting tribunal. After this is final, this decision can be taken to a civil court."

The 29-year old striker produced a brilliant display this season with the Viola scoring 23 goals.
