Les Bleus, who could be missing a couple of big names, are aware it's getting tougher after the Romania game, with giants Holland and Italy ready to show their teeth.
On the other hand, there is no pressure on the Romanians, who aim to silence the skeptics after pundits wrote them off in the deadly group.
Head-to-head:
France win: 6
Romania win: 3
Draw: 1

"They play a little like the Italians - they're skilled, organized and disciplined. Both teams have a similar profile."
Team News: Captain Patrick Vieira was ruled out with a thigh muscle strain, Jeremy Toulalan is expected to deputize.
Thierry Henry received a knock in last week's 1-0 warm-up win over Colombia, and his availability is uncertain.
Probable Line-up: Coupet- Abidal, Sagnol, Thuram, Gallas- Makelele, Toulalan, Malouda, Ribery- Henry, Benzema.
Romania
"It will be no surprise if we win. My strategy is that Romania win," said Romania coach Victor Piturca.
"Of course if we draw that will be good for us because we have to play three great opponents. A draw is possible but a win is also probable."

Probable Line-up: Lobont- Contra, Rat, Goian, Tamas- Chivu, Petre, Dica, Cocis, Mutu, Marica.
