Sweden midfielder Christian Wilhelmsson will probably miss the rest of the EURO 2008 after sustaining a thigh injury against Greece last Tuesday.

"He has torn a muscle in his right thigh and there is no way in our opinion that he will be fit again before the end of the tournament," the team’s doctor Anders Valentin said.

The 28-year old player had to quit Sweden’s opener after 72 minutes after having a major contribution in his country’s precious victory over the defending champions 2-0.

Coach Lars Lagerback has yet to choose a replacement. Reports have suggested that Sebastian Larsson or Johan Elmander could fit in Wilhelmsson’s boots.

Sweden will face Spain on Saturday in the top clash of the group.
