Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas and his Ahli counterpart, Hassan Hamdi, will attend Egypt's game against Malawi on Sunday in a bid to ease fans' tensions.

The Egyptian FA is worried that section of the crowd could disrupt the World Cup qualifier by making abusive chants towards keeper Essam Al-Hadari.

Former Ahli guardian Al-Hadari has been repeatedly subjected to insulting chants since moving to Swiss side Sion without the consent of the Egyptian champions.

Egypt's last World Cup qualifier at home, a 2-1 victory over DR Congo, was tarnished by similar incidents at Cairo Stadium.

Egyptian FA president Samir Zaher tried to help ease tensions by inviting Abbas and Hamdi to watch the match from the stands.

"Abbas and Hamdi agreed to attend the game. They will cheer for the national team along with the ordinary supporters," Zaher said.
