Zamalek set for Abidjan trip

ES Setif president Abdelhakim Serrar will arrive in Cairo on Tuesday to hold talks with Zamalek over Geoffrey Serey Die's transfer saga, the Egyptian Cup winners said.

Mixed news emerged recently regarding the Ivorian midfielder's destination.

Although Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas announced in April that the club signed Serey Die on a three-year deal, the player denied joining the Cairo giants.

Rumors said that Serey Die declined to move to Zamalek despite receiving money from the men in white.

There were also reports suggesting that Serey Die, who helped Setif win the Arab Champions League last season, has joined Swiss side Sion.

Clarification

Zamalek said in a statement on their website that Serrar will hold talks with the club officials in a bid to clarify the ambiguous matter.

"After the dispute that occurred between Zamalek and Setif, the Algerian club's president will arrive in Cairo for more talks over the problem," the statement read.

Zamalek will be hoping to wrap up Serey Die's deal to continue strengthening their shaky midfield.

The team have already signed Trabzonspor's Egyptian midfielder Ayman Abdul-Aziz.
