The Egyptian's first season at Riverside was wretched by a series of injuries, which limited his contribution to a few Premiership appearances.
Moreover, Brazilian forward Afonso Alves impressed in the 2007-2008 season, in addition to the fine partnership of Jeremie Aliadiere and Sanli Tuncay.
However, Mido looks forward to a better new season at Boro with the plethora of strikers in possession.
"I am looking forward to playing with Afonso, but there are many other great players in the Boro team too," he was quoted by Evening Gazette.
"Jeremie contributes so much to the side and is a really big player for us, as is Tuncay Sanli, who I believe is going to have a great season.
"Everyone at the club is determined to push forward, I see no reason why we cannot do much better next season."
Mido's injury-plagued campaign with Middlesbrough also saw him losing his place in Egypt's roster.
