"Together Frank and I can create a lot of danger for other teams," the Portuguese midfielder said.

The Blues signed the 30-year old midfielder from Barcelona in a deal worth £8million.

Whilst Lampard is linked with Jose Mourinho's Inter, Deco admitted that the presence of former Portugal coach Scolari had an effect on his decision to join the Blues.

"Scolari's arrival at Chelsea influenced my decision a lot. I get on very well with him so it is easy to train, play and perform. Chelsea's sporting project is exciting and that is why I have decided to come here," he added.

"It is a great squad but they have told me that more players will arrive."
