Zamalek have opened talks with former Telecom Egypt manager Tarek Yehia to replace the departed Mohamed Helmi as the club's assistant coach.

The former Zamalek star is currently in charge of UAE's Al-Wehda second team, following his exit from Telecom Egypt.

"I'm glad with these talks but Zamalek's officials will have to talk to Al-Wehda bosses," Yehia told FilGoal.com.

Helmi walked out of the team's pre-season camp on Wednesday as rumors suggested that there was a disagreement with new boss Reiner Hollman.

The ex-Baladeya coach has also been involved in a rift with club chairman Mamdouh Abbas.
