"Barakat will return to the team's training on Friday," Ahli said on their official website.
"The player sustained the problem after colliding with a teammate yesterday."
Ahli host arch-rivals Zamalek in the Champions League group stage opener on Sunday.
The Red Devils will miss long-term absentees Emad Al-Nahhas and Ahmed Fathi, who are sidelined due to serious injuries.
Influential duo Mohamed Abou-Treika and Emad Meteb remain doubtful for the anticipated encounter.
Star playmaker Abou-Treika is suffering from a niggling knee injury while Meteb's situation remains unclear after he completed a move to English side Bristol City.
The striker's agent Nader Shawki said City agreed to let Meteb play against Zamalek, after which he will link up with his new teammates.
However, City manager Gary Johnson insisted it was not possible for the 25-year-old to participate in the match.
"We had to apply for his work permit and for that to happen he must cancel registration with Ahli," Johnson told the club's official website.
