Essam Al-Hadari’s Sion came from behind to beat Young Boys 2-1 and claim their first win in the Swiss League despite playing with ten men for about 50 minutes.

Brazilian striker Eudis put Young Boys in front in the 24th minute. Matters went from bad to worse for Sion when Geoffrey Serey Die received his marching orders.

The Ivorian midfielder, who was close to joining Zamalek in the close season, was sent off four minutes before the break for a second bookable offense.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, French midfielder Olivier Monterrubio grabbed the equalizer for Sion in the 64th minute after converting a penalty.

Nigerian striker Saidu Adeshina scored Sion’s winner 11 minutes from time.

Egypt goalkeeper Al-Hadari impressed in the game, blocking several clear-cut chances from Young Boys, who finished second in the league last season.

Sion moved to the fifth place in the league standings after two rounds.
