Gilberto to return to Ahli training

Ahli winger Gilberto will return to training on Saturday after recovering from an ankle injury, the Egyptian champions said.

Ahli winger Gilberto will return to training on Saturday after recovering from an ankle injury, the Egyptian champions said.

The Angolan sustained the problem during Ahli’s 2-1 Champions League victory over arch-rivals Zamalek last Sunday.

He was deemed doubtful for the Egyptian Super Cup against Zamalek on Sunday- the second Cairo derby in the space of seven days.

But Gilberto will link up with his teammates in their last training session before the anticipated game.

Should the 25-year-old fail to be fit in time for the match, newly-arrived left back Sayed Moawad will probably fill in for him.
