Samaka surplus to Kazma requirements

Kazma's Egyptian playmaker Amr Samaka conceded that Ahmed Fathi's departure to Ahli last season was a major blow to the Kuwaiti side.

Fathi spend the first half of last season on loan at Kazma, as he left the team on top of the Kuwaiti league standings.

However, Kazma slipped to fifth after the versatile midfielder's return to Ahli, where he helped the team win the Egyptian league title.

"We suffered a huge blow last season when Fathi left us, the injury of Jarrah Dhfairi has also cost us," Samaka told Alam Al-Yawm newspaper.

Samaka had an inconsistent 2007-2008 season in Kuwait due to his injury problems, but the former Ahli man is hopeful that next season could be better.

"I was unlucky last season because I had too many injury problems, but I wish to help the club win trophies in the new season," he added.

"Kazma are a big club and I think that the arrival of new manager Robertinho will help the team."
