Jose Mourinho's exciting arguments with rival managers has started as the Inter Milan boss was involved in an unfriendly dialogue with Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri mentioned Mourinho's name in the wake of Juve's friendly defeat to Hamburg on Sunday, but the outspoken Portuguese responded sarcastically.

"Unlike Mourinho I don’t need to win to be sure about what I am doing," Ranieri said.

"I can take a defeat because last year we lost a few and we always managed to react."

Trophies

Mourinho was quick to reply though, as he hinted at his superiority in the number of honors compared to his counterpart.

"Ranieri was right, I do need to win things to be sure of what I am doing," the former Chelsea boss said.

"That’s why I have won so many trophies in my career.

"By contrast he has the mentality that winning isn’t crucial and at nearly 70-years-old he has just won a Super Cup and other small tournaments. He is too old to change his mentality."

Serie A holders Inter will face Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on Tuesday, with some big names out injured, including Patrick Vieira, Christian Chivu and Walter Samuel.
