AS Roma president Franco Sensi has died on Sunday at the age of 82.

Sensi was Roma chairman since November 1993, and led them through one of their most successful eras as they won the Scudetto in 2001, two Italian Super Cups in 2001 and 2007, and the Coppa Italia in 2007 and 2008.

His daughter Rosella had to take over the daily gesture of the club as he has been very ill lately.

Sensi struggled financially and was ready to sell the club but the negotiations were never conclusive.

Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan showed their deep affections and presented their condolences to Roma.
